What does Homehand do?
We provide practical help with the home: sorting and organizing belongings, handling agreed small household jobs, arranging specialist quotes, and visiting the house while you’re away. You can hire us for one project or agree a monthly plan for regular help. We start by listening to what you need.
Who will come to my home?
Adam DiTusa-Brown is your first point of contact. We confirm the name of the person visiting before the appointment and agree access, the work, and the price with you.
What is a partnership, and how much does it cost?
Partner is $349 per month for one monthly visit. Preferred is $649 with visits every two weeks and 30 minutes of contractor coordination per month. Private is $1,299 with weekly visits and one hour of coordination per month. Each scheduled visit includes up to 90 minutes in your home, followed by a written update. Coordination allowances are outside visits. Principal starts at $1,995 with weekly visits and two hours of planning and coordination per month. Unused time does not roll over.
Explore the serviceWho decides what leaves the house?
You do, or someone you have authorized. We agree who may make decisions before work begins. Belongings that need a decision are set aside; we do not independently decide to discard them.
Will my family need to learn an app?
No. You can begin by calling Adam, and routine written updates arrive by email without a login. If you want an online inventory — a searchable list of belongings with photos and locations — we agree that as part of the project and help you understand how to access it.
How do we agree access to the home?
Before a visit, we agree how to enter, which areas we may visit, how keys or codes are handled, a backup contact, and who can approve follow-up work. Please do not send keys or access codes through the website inquiry form.
Explore the serviceIs organizing a garage included in my monthly plan?
Regular visits can include light organizing and keeping your household inventory current within the agreed time. We can continue an agreed small organizing task over several visits. A larger reset, such as reorganizing a garage, is a separately quoted project, with the scope and price approved before work begins. You are not charged again for work completed within your included visit time. Extra time is $125 per hour only when agreed in advance; a separate project uses its approved quote.
Explore the serviceWho is the service for?
Homeowners who want a hand with the house and belongings, including older people who want to stay at home, families with a growing list of jobs, and people moving or spending time away. Adult children can help arrange support for a parent, including from out of state. The homeowner’s welcome and priorities come first.
Where does Homehand work?
We serve Lake Oswego, West Linn, and Stafford, Oregon. If you are nearby, tell us the general location of your home and we’ll confirm whether we can help.
Can I hire Homehand for just one project?
Yes. A single organizing or downsizing project is a good place to begin. Downsizing means sorting what to keep or pass on, often before a move to a smaller home. You do not need a monthly plan.
What happens after I get in touch?
The introductory phone call is free, with no obligation to book. Adam replies within one business day. Our contact hours are Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Pacific, excluding public holidays. We discuss your priorities and agree any visit and price before you commit. You do not need to choose a plan first. Sending a message does not book a visit.
How is Homehand different from a handyman or care agency?
Our focus is the household: organizing belongings, handling agreed small jobs, helping arrange specialists, and checking the house while you’re away. We keep a written record so jobs and decisions can be followed through. We agree which tasks we can take on and which need a specialist. We do not provide medical or personal care, such as help with medication, washing, or dressing.
What is Home Watch, and what does a visit cost?
Home Watch is a scheduled visit to your house while you’re away. We check agreed areas for visible concerns, take photographs, and send a written update. A visit is $125, or $95 if you have a monthly Homehand partnership. We agree the checklist, visit dates, access, and who to contact before you leave.
Explore the serviceCan I arrange help for a parent or another family member?
Yes, including when you live out of state. We involve the homeowner in planning the work and agree who receives updates, who can approve spending, and who can make decisions about belongings. For example, you can help arrange a garage project and receive updates while your parent decides what stays.
Can I pay while my parent stays in charge?
Yes. We agree who pays, who approves costs, who decides about belongings, and who receives updates before work begins. Paying for the service does not automatically give someone control over the homeowner’s decisions.
Can we have the first call together?
Yes. A parent and family member can join the first conversation together, including from different places. You can also contact Adam first to explain the situation; we involve the homeowner before arranging work.
Can I start with ongoing help directly?
Yes. A home assessment is $149 for up to 90 minutes in your home, followed by a written recommendation. We confirm the price before booking; ongoing service is optional.
What does an organizing project include?
We work with you to sort and organize the agreed space, then show you where things belong and leave a written summary of completed work and outstanding decisions. If you choose an inventory, it includes photos and locations for the belongings agreed in your quote, with a copy you keep.
Explore the serviceHow do box labels and item photos work?
For an agreed digital inventory, each recorded box has a visible number matching its list of contents. You can also scan its label with a phone to open that record. When we repack individual items as part of that inventory, we photograph and list each one separately with its box or location. You can see what is inside without unpacking it.
Explore the serviceDo I need a subscription to keep my inventory?
No. You keep the delivered inventory and a downloadable copy without a subscription. Access to the online version is separate: your quote explains how long it is included and the options for continuing it.
What does contractor coordination mean?
It means helping arrange specialist work: seeking quotes, agreeing visit times, following up, and, where possible and needed, being there when a contractor arrives and finishes to check the work. Preferred includes 30 minutes per month outside visits, Private one hour, and Principal two hours for planning and coordination. Partner coordination and extra time on other plans are $125 per hour, approved in advance. You or your authorized person approve the work and cost first.
Explore the serviceDoes Homehand mark up contractor bills?
No. Contractor invoices carry no Homehand markup. You normally contract with and pay the specialist directly; any different arrangement needs written authorization. Any fee for our time arranging or following up the work is agreed separately, or included in your plan as stated in your agreement.
Is every repair or task included?
No. Scheduled visits include up to 90 minutes in your home for the agreed small jobs. Additional time is $125 per hour with your approval, and larger projects are quoted separately. If something needs a specialist, we seek a quote for your approval rather than assume the work is included.
How quickly will you respond, and can I change or cancel?
Adam replies within one business day. Our contact hours are Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Pacific, excluding public holidays. You can pause or cancel a monthly plan with 30 days’ notice by phone or email. There is no annual commitment. We confirm the final service date and any remaining charge in writing. We confirm backup arrangements before service starts. These are routine household services, not emergency response.
Is Home Watch an emergency or security service?
No. It is an in-person visit at agreed times, with observations, photographs, and a written update. It does not provide continuous monitoring, an emergency response service, a security guarantee, or a comprehensive home inspection.
Can the family review belongings and record preferences?
Yes, with your permission. Invited family can review photos and locations online. Those you authorize can mark items for donation, record who an item is intended for as an inheritance preference, or leave a decision open for discussion. We agree who has authority before acting on decisions.
Explore the serviceCan Homehand make purchases or authorize work for me?
Only within the permission agreed with you. We set spending approvals and decision-making permissions in advance. A monthly plan does not give us open-ended permission to spend.
What is Inventory Care?
Inventory Care is optional help keeping your list of belongings up to date as things change, with an annual refresh. The $49 monthly price, availability, and work included are agreed separately. It is not a fee to retrieve your delivered record or correct a mistake. Online access arrangements are stated in your quote or agreement.
